Your vehicle and the environment

AutoWorks is concerned with keeping your vehicle on the road.

We want your car running clean and safe within a manageable budget.
Here are some things you can do to save time and money, as well as do a little to save the earth.

1. Service: keep your vehicle tuned and properly maintained -  A well maintained vehicle pollutes less, burns less fuel, and avoids costly inconvenient break-downs.

2. Monitor your vehicle for potential fluid leaks - A small oil drip, antifreeze leak or other fluid leak may not seem like much of a problem, but over time it may cause damage and possibly ending up in our ground water or Puget Sound.

3. Budget - plan ahead for service and breakdowns. Break downs are never timely or easy on the family budget.

4.  Economize vehicle use - combine errands and trips when ever possible. Your vehicle performs most efficiently when at full operating temperature. A cold engine pollutes, and suffers more wear than a warm engine.

AutoWorks is proud to have received a Five Star Rating from Envirostar and the Green Business Environmental Award.

Responsible care and use can provide a safe, efficient and cleaner service from your vehicles.

We are proud to work with companies such as Emerald Petroleum to recycle as many contaminants as possible.  Engine oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, transmission fluid etc. are picked up and either recycled to their original product base or converted to an alternate product. Engine oil filters are crushed, drained and recycled to be used in the production of new metal products.  Your automobile need not be the polluter of the past.

Summary

You do not need to buy a new vehicle to be environmentally responsible nor to save money on gas.
Take care of the vehicle you have!

I have heard it said that one third of vehicle pollution happens during construction, one third during operation and one third during disposal.  If this is true then keeping that old vehicle well maintained is the environmentally responsible  thing to do.
